VOICE Second Progress Meeting held in London
London, United Kingdom, 30th of April, 2025
The VOICE consortium recently met in London for a vibrant in-person and hybrid meeting hosted by Royal College London. Over two days, partners came together to connect, share progress, and envision the future of the project. The gathering was marked by creative energy, thoughtful exchange, and a deepened sense of purpose as the consortium works to co-create meaningful tools and experiences.
A highlight of the meeting was the Regent’s Park Estate Story Trail, led by Daniel Pitt, Manager of Old Diorama Arts Centre. The group explored this inspiring, community-driven initiative, which brought together commissioned artists, neighbourhood curators, and local groups in over 60 workshops and events. With more than 1,600 total attendances, the trail resulted in ten powerful public art commissions shaped by local voices. Learn more about this initiative at olddiorama.com.
The first day of the consortium meeting featured powerful contributions from VOICE pilot artistsAnna Dumitriu, Lucie Hernandez, and Gayil Nalls. Through engaging presentations, they shared insights into their pilot projects, sparking dialogue around new questions, creative methods, and future possibilities.
These conversations fed into two dynamic breakout sessions focused on the themes More-than-Human: Rivers and Forests and Making and Remaking. These sessions fostered interdisciplinary discussion, encouraged reflection, and helped surface fresh ideas for collaborative exploration.
Day two centred on co-creation and deepened collaboration. In the morning, VOICE partners were joined by colleagues from our sister project, InteractionSeeds, for a productive exchange aimed at strengthening cross-project learning. The afternoon workshops focused on advancing VOICE’s key outputs — the Knowledge Platform, Deployment Kit, and Voices of VOICE. These sessions provided space to reflect on learnings, assess progress, and define next steps to ensure these tools are accessible, practical, and impactful.
The London meeting underscored VOICE's commitment to fostering a collective space for exploration and transformation. By integrating artistic innovation with community engagement, VOICE continues to pave the way for meaningful collaborations that resonate across disciplines and communities.
